Another weekend at the ranch

I spent two day so far on my 4 day weekend at WCR. Spring has really changed the place. The

firs pic of this post is about 4 weeks ago, the next pic was taken this weekend color has returned!

I had several new birds this weekend migration is here for sure. The new birds, barn swallow, blue grosbeak, indigo bunting, summer tanager, great blue heron, tennessee warbler and nashville warbler. Had several others as well incl. hermit thrush, carolina wren, northern parulas and blue/grey gnatcatchers. During one of my walks along Walnut Creek trail, I had a pair of wood ducks land close enough for my camera to get a really bad pic.....

Some new flower pics for Jenn.....

I brought my kayak down and made my way 1.25 miles down the creek to the confluence of the creek to the Marias Des Cygnes river. I had a great time exploring the creek. Many riffles and rocky banks. Lots of birds. Jenn is going to love this place!
