Finally My Campout

The weather and work aligned and I was able to go down and spend my first full night @ WCR. It was great.. 1st off I had wood ducks near camp and Phoebes singing. I did my birding walk and ended up scoring at least 3 Fox Sparrows, they are now my offical favorite sparrow. I then tackled cutting a trail to what I refer to as the gorge, it is the furthest part of the propert from camp. The new trail covers about 1/4 mile of Walnut Creek.

I have 20 acres that are across the gorge that we cannot access, Jenn and I will put up a bridge shortly.

I finished working and decided to set up camp. Jenn and I buy only MADE IN USA goods if it is an option, knowing the water around the property and the bugs that come with it, I decided to buy a Springbar tent. It is the self proclaimed "Best tent made in the USA" and I believe it. The quality was great and my screen tent worked well.
My camp:

I slept well, listening to nothin' but the stream, barred owls and coyotes howlin with the spring peepers and chorus frogs in the background. The night sky was brilliant without the light pollution from the city.

I had talked to my mom and she had said that the kids (my nieces and nephews) needed to run and burn some energy, I think they had a blast. We walked the creek trail then cooked hot dogs over a fire for lunch. We then walked a good part of the property. We got back to camp and the kids headed for the creek, they loved it and I am sure I will see them again.
