One month ago, after obsessedly pushing her woodpecker push toy for 2 weeks, AJ took her first steps, 3 steps to daddy and a bit later 3 steps to mommy. It was right before bedtime on a Friday, so RC and I both envisioned ample video opportunities over the course of the weekend. Well, that didn't happen. In fact, she may not have taken more than a couple steps over those 2 days. It was as if she had really freaked herself out and clung tightly to us and to crawling over the next few days. The rare times she fumbled to her feet again were brief, too brief to capture video sadly. As she got a more stable and fearless, more opportunities arose to film her burgeoning skills. By 11-months, she gave in to my coaxing and really started to walk more and more, but usually when placed standing up. Oct 9 she finally stood up from sitting unassisted and since then she has gotten stronger and more balanced. And today marks the first day she choose to stand walk after climbing the stairs and not crawl. She can turn around, squat and return to standing, stand in place, bend down to retrieve objects - basically, she has conquered walking and is officially a full-time toddling toddler! Excuse the poor video - she is a very difficult subject!
